BDDC v2 A basic bdd-based logical calculator

چکیده

BDDC is a tool for manipulating logical formula. It is based on a Binary Decision Diagram library, that means that each formula is internally tranformed into a canonical form. In particular, if the formula (resp its negation) is a tautologie, BDDC will transform it into the “always true formula” (resp. the “always false formula”). All classical operators are provided. Moreover the tool provides a “functionallike” language that allows the user to define his (her) own logical operators.

Maintaining Generalized Arc Consistency on Ad-Hoc n-Ary Boolean Constraints

Binary decision diagrams (BDDs) can compactly represent ad-hoc nary Boolean constraints. However, there is no generalized arc consistency (GAC) algorithm which exploit BDDs. For example, the global case constraint by SICStus Prolog for ad-hoc constraints is designed for nonBoolean domains. In this paper, we introduce a new GAC algorithm, bddc, for BDD constraints. Our empirical results demonstr...

On the Equivalence of Primal and Dual Substructuring Preconditioners

After a short historical review, we present four popular substructuring methods: FETI-1, BDD, FETI-DP, BDDC, and derive the primal versions to the two FETI methods, called PFETI-1 and P-FETI-DP, as proposed by Fragakis and Papadrakakis. The formulation of the BDDC method shows that it is the same as P-FETI-DP and the same as a preconditioner introduced by Cros. We prove the equality of eigenval...

An Algebraic Theory for Primal and Dual Substructuring Methods by Constraints

FETI and BDD are two widely used substructuring methods for the solution of large sparse systems of linear algebraic equations arizing from discretization of elliptic boundary value problems. The two most advanced variants of these methods are the FETI-DP and the BDDC methods, whose formulation does not require any information beyond the algebraic system of equations in a substructure form. We ...

Coupling parallel adaptive mesh refinement with a nonoverlapping domain decomposition solver

We study the effect of adaptive mesh refinement on a parallel domain decomposition solver of a linear system of algebraic equations. These concepts need to be combined within a parallel adaptive finite element software. A prototype implementation is presented for this purpose. It uses adaptive mesh refinement with one level of hanging nodes. Two and three-level versions of the Balancing Domain ...

On the development of a logic calculator: a novel tool to perform logical operations

In this paper we propose a Logic Calculator with three operation modes: evaluation of logical formulae; logical entailment and conversion of a formula to Disjunctive Normal Form (DNF) and Conjunctive Normal Form (CNF). It is worth noting there are no existing automated tools for these three computations integrated into one tool providing a graphical calculator format. Logic Calculator is availa...
